Melvita was born in the Ardèche over 35 years ago, at the heart of a region where the countryside is wild and nature untouched. It's a region that's known for its exceptional flora and fauna, and the richness of its biodiversity. And it's also where you'll find our eco-factory!

We have always been based in France. We value the richness of local plants and crops, as well as the French know-how of our trusted producers and agricultural experts. We select natural ingredients that come from pesticide-free land and are grown by passionate, committed farmers. We also give priority to French supply chains whenever possible. Our active ingredients are obtained using environmentally friendly methods, then incorporated into formulas created by our laboratories in France. 

1. Certified-organic products, so you know they're safe for your skin!

Our organic products are certified by Ecocert* and carry the Cosmebio® label. This means they contain at least 95% naturally derived ingredients, and at least 95% of the total plant ingredients come from organic farming. All our star ingredients are naturally derived! We guarantee that the ingredients from our 34 traceable supply chains are completely traceable from the seed to the finished product!   

What's more, in accordance with the Cosmebio Charter, we exclude certain preservatives, such as parabens, phenoxyethanol and methylisothiazolinone, as well as chemical sunscreens, silicones, mineral oils (petroleum jelly, paraffin, etc.), aluminum salts and synthetic colorants.

2.  Precaution and prudence at Melvita: going beyond the requirements of standards All our natural products are certified organic by Ecocert and meet the very strict criteria of the Cosmebio Charter. And because we put your health first, we always err on the side of caution. That's why we've removed certain controversial ingredients from our formulas, even though they are permitted in organic cosmetics. These include alum stone, which is suspected of releasing aluminum salts, as well as certain surfactants that are considered potential irritants.

Melvita ingredients and products undergo safety and quality tests at different stages in their production, to ensure the best possible performance and safety.

• Physicochemical tests to analyze purity, fatty acid composition and cosmetic properties

• Ophthalmological and dermatological tests

• Consumer tests carried out by independent laboratories: it's also thanks to YOU that we are able to evaluate the effectiveness and sensorial qualities of our formulas!
